Washington Harbour
IMD was approached for this Spec Suite project with a request to really show off the ideas for this space, from both an interior perspective and exterior. The goal was to take a large empty office space, located on the 4th floor of a building with prime real estate in Washington Harbour and incredible skyline and riverfront views, and create a visual representation of what the space could be for the right tenant.
The clients requested 3D renderings, a 360º Virtual Tour, and an animation that took you from the elevator and through the various offices and common areas, showing each space from interior camera views and also taking the view out into the exterior environment to see the space from the ‘outside looking in” perspective. The result is a beautifully detailed walk through that showcases the premium location as well as the natural elements that can be enjoyed in the space: natural lighting, river views, floor-to-ceiling windows, courtyard area, riverfront promenade, etc. The animation finishes the tour at the starting point, which contributes to a continuous loop.
Because of the various angles required in the animation, the 360º Virtual Tour and the 3D animations, the talented IMD team needed to generate accurate renditions in 3D of the environment seen from each angle, fine-tuning models of the Kennedy Center, WaterGate, the Roslyn cityscape, the Key Bridge, Reagan National Airport, and other key features of the Washington, DC region. The results are stunning and realistic, showcasing not only the necessary landmarks to make it look real, but also adding details like faintly fluffy clouds, ripples in the water of the river, reflections on the water, moving boats, and waving flags. While this work took months to complete, having these details painstakingly created in 3D meant that new views of the project could be requested at any time without having to recreate the scene. It also means the animation and 3D renderings could easily translate into a 360º Virtual Tour experience for even more immersion in the ideas for the space.
