Remote Readiness + Company culture

Behind the Scenes into this Week’s Hot Topics while WFH

Wrapping up Week #5 and tackling two hot topics: Remote Readiness for the new work from home reality and maintaining Company Culture in a virtual world of interactions. Listen in as Florencia Bialet, CEO, shares the behind the scenes at IMD.

Week of April 13th, 2020 in Review, Episode 2, includes notes on our new FREE resource on working from home for Creatives, and a look behind the scenes at how IMD is tackling Company Culture in a virtual world.

Hi everybody this is Florencia, coming to you for Episode 2.

I just wanted to make a quick video as we wrap up week number 5 of staying at home and let you all know it's been a good week at IMD. We have made progress on projects and have received new inquiries and we had a few, really fun, staff events so I’m very happy as we close out this week.

I also wanted to let you know we have published our Remote Readiness Guide with tips and tricks and standards for working from home for our company. We hope that this helps our team tackle all the different components of the new normal right now and also want to make it public to be a resource for our industry and greater audience. In terms of company culture, that’s been a hot topic this week as we have now passed more than one month of working outside of the office.

Company culture, team culture, is really pretty critical to keeping everybody's spirits up and making sure everyone is on the same page. What we're doing at IMD is we typically have a daily huddle where our whole team meets on a daily basis for a short time to just check in and talk about the progress on projects. Now, that is a virtual event on a daily basis and it should be happening with video on everybody’s part so we can get a little bit of face time.

We took our team lunch, to a virtual team lunch and as of this week we added a Happy Hour as well to stay more connected. This week everybody came with jokes and it was a really fun time. We got our Remote Readiness Guide and we’ve got these fun team events and as of this week we’ve also added the Pulse Check.

The Pulse Check is not only meeting in group events, but also meeting one on one because many times in the office you can just run into somebody and have a more one on one conversation. The Pulse check is a time when either Daniel or I  will be calling each of our team members on a one on one basis, and getting a little more connected in terms of what’s happening in your world and if there is anything we can be doing to support you.

So, between the Daily Huddle, the team lunch, the team happy hour, and the Pulse Check, we hope that everybody continues to feel a part of the team and can keep pushing forward on projects, keeping the innovation and creativity up.

Okay, well that's the wrap! You can visit our website illustratemydesign.com and in the News tab is our latest blog post there and includes the link to the FREE download for the Remote Readiness Guide. We hope that these tips help you as you navigate your next coming week.  Have a wonderful weekend and we’ll see you on Monday.
