Moving towards net zero by 2050
Delta's Sustainable Skies Lab is an innovative concept that seeks to address pressing environmental issues by building a research facility that encourages an interdisciplinary approach to sustainability. As part of this mission, Delta chose to partner with Illustrate My Design (IMD) to develop a conceptual architectural design and renderings for the lab. This process included extensive collaboration between both teams. Through careful consideration, Illustrate My Design was able to craft a design that fit within Delta’s goals for promoting sustainability through collaborative processes, architectural features and produced concept 3D Renderings to announce the Skies Lab at CES '23.

Architectural Design

3D Visualization Process
In order to design and model the building elements of this spectacular structure, the architectural team used three commonly used software programs. Autodesk Revit, Rhino, and MicroStation for each element of the building, including exterior, interior, and roof. Each of these files were large and demanding on CPUs, making it difficult to seamlessly work in a single file at a time. IMD received these files separately, but the three elements of the building needed to be combined to successfully visualize the building. IMD optimized each file and combined them into one, manageable file. When the file was sent back was the first time the designers saw the building as a whole!
