Listen, Learn, and Grow with Kali Bowers
With a flair for innovation, Kali Bowers is the Associate Director of Creative Innovation at JLL. In short, her job description is to visualize the highest potential for her assigned projects, and then bring those ideas to life. Kali has found that making connections and forging your own path is essential to succeed in the Real Estate industry. Through her experience working with team members every day, Kali is a firm believer in excellent leadership. Kali has noticed that great leaders have the ability to bring out the best of everyone on their team. Additionally, leaders should practice active listening, so that they can truly listen and absorb information before diving head first into a project. As a woman in the industry, Kali notes that the effects of home life frequently carry into work life, especially for working moms. Because kids are often a mom’s responsibility, women deal with juggling both work and raising their kids. To ease the burden for working moms, Kali advocates for parents to split their responsibilities 50/50 with their partner. For college seniors or anyone considering a career change, Kali’s advice is to focus on the job description rather than the job title, because the tasks within a job are what will ultimately make one happy. Kali is hopeful for the future of design, and continues to raise the bar with every project she tackles.
