Building upon existing 2D and 3D files, IMD serves as a specialty consultant to compile one 3D Master Model of the airport campus.

Our team can

organize files from various firms and contracts,
reduce file sizes to make them manageable,
create one Master Model to serve current and future projects.

This effort leverages existing content and allocates budget to focus on new content showing your vision, and not on redoing the airport campus and its surroundings.

Whenever possible, IMD approaches the creation of a Master Model of an airport as a first step in the visualization process. This has benefited Airport Staff as well as their Planning and Design Professionals by creating a foundation for any 3D Rendering and Animation projects, reducing production times and budget on future Task Orders. In our experience, the Master Model helps other visual tasks over years and years to come.

3D Renderings are essential in communicating your vision. Let us create your vision through compelling images that will speak to Stakeholders while illustrating complex designs.

Interactive graphics go one step further to not only a memorable experiences, they also help spatial comprehension. 360º VR can be used in addition to a set of 3D Renderings, as a Virtual Before and After, to better understand a design change or to fully understand the scale of a large terminal.

In addition, 360º VR can have additional information such as sounds, videos, and buttons to create a more effective and interactive experience.

Airport Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) presentation

At IMD, we understand the importance of a successful Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and how it can pave the way for real change for an airport, the city, and its region.

Illustrating the vision at this step is critical. It starts by understanding the past and present, how the city is growing, how the region is changing, and how the airport will adapt and grow over the next 10 to 20 years. Using a variety of visual methods, IMD has created successful CIP video presentations that have enabled Large Hub Airports such as MIA, FLL and SEA secure the necessary funds.

We also understand that at the planning stage many design elements might not be fully specified. With the experience from our Design and Architecture trained staff, our team can fill in these design gaps.

Airports are facilities that need to continue operating as close to 100%, even when construction is underway. Planning and coordination are vital, but due to the complexity of one or multiple projects happening concurrently, it is often hard to absorb the full impact. A 3D Model, in conjunction with the Construction Schedule over Time, create a 4D model that will be easily (and graphically!) understood. In addition, descriptive labels and Voice Over can deliver the appropriate message.
